JOHN DODGE

John has over 14 years of experience as a safety specialist working with a variety of industries. He encourages companies to fully appreciate the moral and financial rewards which come to businesses that make safety their top priority - not because of regulation, but because it's the right thing to do.

John has a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology from the University of Southern Maine, is a Certified Safety Professional, and is a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers. In addition to his experience as a safety specialist, he has formal training in occupational ergonomics, industrial hygiene, and behavioral-based safety.

 
TONY JONES
Safety Management Specialist

Tony has more than 17 years' experience in Occupational Safety and Health. Before joining MEMIC, he was employed by a large New England- based manufacturing company as Safety Director and Occupational Health Nurse. His responsibilities included implementing and maintaining a comprehensive safety and health program, safety and health auditing including the Maine LEP (Local Emphasis Program), management of workers' compensation and disability programs, etc. The results were significantly reduced losses, maximized profits, and improved worker morale. Tony has special interests in ergonomics, worker safety and health education, workplace hazard control, and returning injured workers to meaningful employment.

Tony is a registered professional nurse with a specialty in occupational safety and health. He is a member of the New Hampshire Association of Occupational Health Nurses. Tony served as a medical services specialist in the United States Air Force before graduating from the New Hampshire Hospital School of Nursing. In addition, he has attended additional training in all aspects of safety and health compliance.

 
HENRY REYNOLDS

Henry brings to MEMIC clients the benefits of 30 years in the manufacturing industry, having worked 24 years for a large New York state manufacturer and 6 years at Saco Defense as a Training Supervisor and Human Resource Employment Administrator. Pairing this experience with his training capabilities, Henry is able to work with all levels of an organization, from the line workers to the management team. Henry is also a specialist in Fork Lift Safety and Machine Safeguarding Training. He is certified in CPR & First Aid and is an Authorized 10-hour General Industry Outreach Program trainer.

Workplace safety is integral to production and quality within any organization. Injuries are typically an indicator that there is a production or quality problem within an organization. By incorporating safety management principles into the production and quality control process, workplace injuries can be eliminated. Mel works with organizations to design safety management systems that are integral to production and quality. Additionally, Mel works to build specific managerial, supervisory, and employee accountabilities for safety into an organization's management system.

Mel has 15 years' experience as a safety consultant. He is a Certified Safety Professional with a specialty in ergonomics. Mel's formal education includes a bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health from Keene State College and a Graduate Certificate in the Identification and Control of Ergonomic Hazards. Mel is currently seeking a master's degree with a concentration in occupational ergonomics. Additionally, Mel is an OSHA-authorized instructor in the General Industry Outreach Program and has received advanced training in machine safeguarding from the OSHA Training Institute and Rockford Systems, as well as advanced ergonomics training from Humantech.

 
HARTLEY WEBB

Hartley has worked in industrial settings for many years and understands the importance and benefits that a well-developed and well-implemented safety program can provide. His work often focuses on training for supervisors and middle managers, the positions most responsible for implementing and enforcing a safety culture.

Hartley grew up in the sawmill industry and continues to specialize in the wood products and sawmill industries. He has served more than seven years as a safety engineer for some of Maine's leading industrial and heavy construction companies. Since 1991 Hartley has worked as a safety management specialist for the insurance industry. He is a strong instructor and communicator as well as an aggressive advocate for the development of the line supervisor. Hartley is an authorized instructor in the OSHA Construction and General Industry Outreach Programs. Hartley is a qualified instructor for the Leadership Development for Front-Line Supervisors training course that allows companies to integrate safety into sound business practices. His specialized skills include respirator safety, hearing conservation, confined space entry, machine safeguarding, control of hazardous energy, and performing OSHA Compliance Audits.

Hartley has a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology from the University of Southern Maine, is a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers, and is a volunteer firefighter and first responder. Hartley also has completed specialized ergonomic and related safety courses at Harvard University and University of Southern Maine.
